Masterplanning for the Museum of Traditional Epirotic Clothing- “Amalia Frontzos Foundation”

A most prominent historic house, the residence of Konstantinos and Amalia Frontzos, in the heart of the city of Ioannina is to become a cultural hub dedicated to the collection and study of traditional Epirotic clothing. Aiming to project the craftsmanship involved, but also to communicate and strengthen the links to current trends of fashion design, the Amalia Frontzos Foundation would be displaying, researching and using the extensive collections of traditional costumes in order for these to become catalysts of contemporary creation. Responding to challenges around circulation and accessibility, the proposed masterplan caters for all needs and provides a flexible, fluid use of the spaces available, merging the various functions while respecting the historic building and furnishings.
