Qingdao Eden is a most ambitious environmentally-themed experience evolving around the importance and beauty of water. Within the central biome- a signature design by Grimshaw architects- sits a constructed mountain, the highlight of the section, that visualizes the cycle of water in nature. Natalia's contribution was to envisage the various forms, material expressions and qualities that would shape that artificial structure, not only to support the narrative and the various functions, but also to create an arresting design language that blends the natural with the artificial artfully and results in a landmark design.
